What To Men Wear To Hawaiian Job Interviews?
I’m from the east coast, and I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I’m flying there next week for some job interview with Hawaiian companies: typical upscale white collar Fortune 500 companies.
I have a friend who moved there, and he said formal business attire in Hawaii, is standard business pants or khakis, with an untucked floral print Shirt, and if I dress in a normal suit and tie, I’ll actually seem uncultured and unaware of appropriate business custom locally.
So, which is it?
Should I dress in a suit and tie like I would for any other state?
Or do people really show up at job interviews in Hawaii and go to work, in untucked floral print Shirts?
go in a suit and a tie. if they know that you are from the continent, they will understand. you can see many times in movies when businessmen go in ties and armani suits from cold to very hot, exotic areas to make a new business.
but maybe you wouldnt need a tie cause its hot and people dont like wearing ties in hot areas, so I would go without a tie but still tuck a shirt in my pants.
